i am officially an addict...

...and i want to blame bert but he just helps me do it right...

So I am getting my 4th tank this week (not including QT tanks ). I have a 16, 46 bow and 56 corner bow. The new tank is a 75. They are all sumpless bc i dont have the desire to mess with plumbing and leaks at this point. Maybe someday. I scored 150 lbs of rock and a PFO dual 250 ballast and 2 PFO pendants this weekend off a guy in eugene and I picked up all the other random stuff I need today... just waiting on the tank now which hopefully will arrive tomorrow. I cant wait to get started working on it.

I am going to have a lot of questions on what to do with this tank. The rock I got is decent sized but not many big foundation pieces. So I need to figure out the best way to put the rock in (stack it against the back? Attach them together?), how to cure everything properly, what a good main powerhead would be, etc.

Anyway just wanted to share. I'll post pics and stuff as I get it going. Maybe I'll do a build thread... hmm...

BUILD THREAD ,BUILD THREAD. i beleive i was telling you about drilling rocks and using ziptieds to secure them together.i have seen some pretty cool structures that were pieced together to get the nice ledges.

yeah you did and i wanna do that. What do i need for a drill and bit? I dont have a very powerful drill... not sure it could do rock... but I wanna talk more bc i wanna play around with structures this weekend

a tile bit is what i use as i like bigger diameters to work with i believe you can use a masonry bit to go through most of your rock if you want to go that way.

sweet. I am borrowing a drill and bit from my dad tomorrow. This weekend will be rock structure building weekend... My tank didnt come today I am hoping for friday now...

just time to prepare and visualize.besides etting the rock together will take a little longer than you think as you will have to speculate on the best ways to drill and combine the rock and i dought a speedy result will turn out good.
