I thought it would only be appropriate for me being the caretaker of the pond to start a thread to document some of the changes that happen over my time with the pond. This picture here is just a sampler.

The front view ,if you could call it that, center fountain and planted perimeter. It does have a nice cascade effect to it.

[img]Ashbrook School Commons Pond Dscf8311[/img Some very happy fish.

That's a really nice pond, every school should have one of those.I hope I can raise my koi up to that size someday.Approximately how many gallons do you think that feature holds?

All apologies on the long awaited reply, one of those times I typed the response and may have closed the browser without actually posting.SORRY. The pond is only around 2,000 gallons , I will have to get some measurements of my own at some point but that is what I was told. It is only a couple feet deep wich lets me wear hip waders easily while getting into the pond for maintenance.

It would be nice if every school had a small pond\water feature or even an aquarium but unfortunately that does not seem to be the case. That is too bad as they can certainly be teaching tools not to mention stress relief\tension breakers. If only the science or biology teachers would get with the program...SHEESH!

Now that you mention it a couple of these guys are pretty good size.

Even the goldfish that are in this pond are pretty big , about 16+ inches.

This pond is actually the original reason I built this powered pond vac, I needed something to get in and clean up muck. Being that it has a 360 degree view to it at all times and is in an area that needs to be aesthetically pleasing there is no way to add any filtration to this pond so the only way to remove any organics is via pump.

This is the pump separated from as I needed to do a little repair, you can find the whole schematics in the DIY section here.
