a friend and i went in on some frags since i am not financialy endowed it makes things affordable.its way cooler to get two small frags instead of the one .especialy when you dont get out much.trade is always a factor as well.here is a double shot of this little gem.as you can see it is starting to develope some nice colors.totaly differnt then the original BLAH![img][/img]

this one i used the dremel.i cut partway through the bottom and then used one of my wedge/chisle to finish the break with a twist.i am aiming for a three piece frag.[img][/img]
then comes the iodine...dont want to get an infection.

i am pretty generous with my iodine.[img][/img]after the cut i just douse this guy.usualy you would let the tissue come appart entirely on its own but i am encouraging it with a couple of well placed cuts.[img][/img]

I'm thrilled to see those Favia thriving! Back from the brink.

Did you look at those pulsing Xenia I left at your house? Those are the most indestructable Xenia I've encountered. They pulsed through a nitrate spike, low pH, temp swings, etc. And they spread.

BTW, I want a Blue-Eyed Tang too. My "awesome fish" radar zoomed right on to that fish the moment I walked in. The Platy was distracting too.

i actualy let the frags of xenia go to keli and a friend but so far it looks good in there tanks.and you said that the favia was one to disperse to worthy peoples so you have done the reefing community a small service in a way.it is now in 4 tanks that i know of and after the POTM prize winner it will be in one more Laughing looks differnt in every tank too Razz

Sharing is the name of the game. My favorite coral came from one of your tanks. Thanks, by the way.

My Favia (only Favia) completely died about 2 weeks ago. My Goniastrea decided to start developing sweeper tentacles at night. Very long! This guy is only about 2 to 3 inch ball and the tentacles are easily 8 inches or more. Anyway, you know where this is going. The Favia didn't stand a chance. I noticed some bruising on the first night, moved him (the Favia) a little farther from the Goniastrea, then completely white and gone on 2nd night.

I lost my Green Acro the same way. Now that Goni has his own corner. Just what he wanted.

Moral of the story: keep a close eye on your corals. Even the slightest change or discoloration might mean danger.

Don't worry about that guy. He's tough as nails and prefers to be alone. All alone. Mine has a rather shadowy corner all to himself...and he's growing.
