| UH OH...i have a nice outbreak of ich in a heavily populated tank full of inverts.this isnt good. ihave used the no ich with great succes before but the local pet store is out and the ich seems to have taken hold.maybe its been ther longer than i care to admit. so now i have to figure on a way to rig up a system to treat these fish with a non reef safe medication.man i LOVE this hobby.enginuity and problem solving.something i am always needing work on. | |

| i also recommend copper power...safer to use at higher doses. It is all I will use for ich as far as copper. The only two scientifically proven ways to get rid of marine ich are copper based medications and hyposalinity with raised temps. | |

| Be careful. Cupramine is dangerous in my experience | |

| It is very strong. Just watch for any ammonia spike along with signs of overdose. You have a test kit? Just watch for signs of stress. Like loss of color etc. Angels and some other fish dont tolerate is as well | |

| [img] [/img]this is the medication i am using...seachems Cupramine.pretty straight forward dosage.2 drops per gallon wait 48 hours then dose again.allow about a 2 week treatment and everything should be good.as i have stated i will be monitoring copper before and after treatments and keeping my eyes on the fishes general health during this treatment. | |

| Sorry man. It almost always happens when you dose a system with copper for the first time, especially that copper. You got an air stone in there? | |

| i dont have an air stone in there yet but i do have a turbulant overflow.here this morning again the ammonia is rather high and in need of another 75% water change. [img] [/img]i was talking to a fellow reefer today and we decided that a ceramic biuomedia should work out rather well in the future for processing ammonia in a system with minimal filteration and rock. | |

| so woke up about 5:50 A.M. to my copper system having had cracked all the way down the front glass pane and had leaked all over the floor and had actualy made it to the first floor through its ceiling.it seems that the shelf may not have been level at one of the corners of the tank being as i did not make the shelf nor did i reinforce it do to my hasty ich treatment.this is my asumption as i dont want to blame anyone else in the household except myself.on the bright side the tank did not explode and no fish made it to the floor.i had to buy a brand new 20 long since that is the only tank that would fit on the shelf especialy after i reinforced it and i just had a friend who offered me a 20 long for super cheap.what a poopy week. | |

| actualy in the end the bacteria finaly got in gear and i just had to do a real heavy water change once a week.i bet it would be even better if i actualy employed a filter instead of just rubble and rock. | |
