| we're expecting to have a new hound in the family soon. we're meeting with a nice-looking boy in portland next weekend to see if he's a good fit for us. I'll get picks and a name once it's official, but I'm excited!!!

| They're surprisingly calm...most owners call them 'the fastest couch potatoes on the planet's. Theey cover 13/8mile in 30seconds, but sleep about 23 hours/day and most of the rest is eating or pooping... not a puppy, but a retired racer | |

| we got him!!! actually, it's a second one. the one we originally went to see was a bit strung out, and pulled pretty hard on the leash, so they got a second one in mind for us and we brought him home yesterday! Here's a picture of him sleeping of a stressful day of napping: His track name was vaya, but he doesn't know the name...and it kinda feels like a girl's name, so we may change it. he'll be 3 on June 1st, should weigh 77 pounds but is a little light right now (probably about 72ish). he's calmer than a rug, but we love him already! | |

| the name is settled: Hank
It seems to suit him, especially with the OSU Beavers dog tag we got him! he's really perking up a lot, getting used to the fact that we're not just another foster home. We've taken him to a neighboor's yard that is better for running than ours a few times now. the first time, be was pretty off-kilter, uneasy, the next time he ran a few strides and explored more, he kept getting better every time. now he'll even play chase a little with us in our yard (though we don't stand a chance at keeping up) and Saturday he ran a whole bunch in the neighbor's yard...several laps and lengths...really wore himself out. Very cool to see him run! | |

| HANK..i like it.its pretty nice to have a dog friendly park or yard to take the canine too instead of a walk around the block.if you dont mind my asking where did you get your OSU dog tag? | |

| It is nice to have a place he can go run. He likes exploring the neighborhood on walks, but it's very tun to see him 'open up the throttle'-at least part way. I think he gets to about half speed or maybe 3/4 at the neighbor's yard, "only" about 30mph the tag's from petco, I forget how much...10-12? Little machine e engraved it in just a couple minutes so it has both of our cell numbers and his name (with our last name) | |
