How does one lose a fish? I have looked everywhere. Including the floor, in case he decided to take a leap of faith....

My yellow clown goby has gone missing. I mean, I have turned over rock and coral to no avail. He's not in the overflow, the refugium, the socks....none of the other fish are aggressive or big enough to have gobbled him.....He's just gone.

Shocked

Cleaner crew. Wouldnt be suprised if a few hermits and or snails devoured a carcass that small over night

i have them disapear then make an appearance later on in the day as they love hiding in certain corals but i must say i have never had luck with these little guys.i have kept several and over a few months time they dont usualy make it.I have tried them out in several of my tanks and i just lost every one regardless of my care.not trying to be discouraging here i just wanted to point out that i never pulled a whole body once.in fact only once did i get a partial body as it seemed to be nibled on so to speak.i really dont think it was the clean up crew who caused the demise but i certainly am in agreement that they are capable of cleaning the carcass up in a matter of hours.
sorry to hear about the lost goby Sad

Yeah, Its been rough. I bought the yellow clown goby with two green clown goby's. It seemed they were all sort of doing poorly for the first few weeks. I never saw anyone eating. Now the green clowns are great, the yellow one had just started eating, and had found a small coral that he stayed on all the time. In any event....it is a bummer. Sad
