I got the HOSSEN LED light which is i have to say more than decent for a 16.00 setup.

Worth checking out, the only problem i have is the clamp wont fit on plastic rimmed tanks. You have to just lay it flat, or use pliers to take off some of the plastic rim.
I'd give it a solid 3 Stars.

Those look pretty nice for the price.I had to mod one of my other LED lights for the same reason. If I recall I just clamped it to a pane of glass that covered the aquarium. That might not work here,I would love to check one out.

This one has a couple of plastic screws to clamp on, I just lay it over the top of the glass hood, works fine. My only real complaint is you have to buy 2 to light a 10gallon. I think three could do a 29 gallon tank, basically one per 10 inch area you want lit.

Do they get a better spread if they are mounted instead of laying flat?I have seen some of the low watt LEDs look good but not grow much asides from low light plants. These units are cheaper than a regular plant bulb so I might be worth looking into.I may be able to run one with my florescent hood kind of like a hybrid lamp combo.

I have thought about running a combo of LEDs and tubes before, infact I am running a marine land actinic Led bar with a coralife 96 watt PC and it look really good and the corals are happy too.

They do look better when held up higher for coverage, but the light levels seem weak for plants.
I think they would work for accent lighting or 51/2 gal tanks
