I have used Kent Marine Kalkwasser mix for aptasia control for over a year.It is just as effective as the pricey Aptasia X (Red Sea) product.
Start with a paste of equal parts water and KMKM powder.Let sit for about 20 minutes. The mixture will thicken with time.I use the hollow point 2.5 ml syrine that comes with the Aptasia X kit.You may be able to purchase one at a local farm store.
Many corals(esp.zoas)are sensitve to the treatment.Turn off all pumps before using. Also keep a turkey baster handy to wash off neighboring corals. You may want to remove the effected corals to a separate container for treatment. And finally, practice on a isolated aptasia first.
Aim for the mouth, similar to using Aptasia X.Be generous if possible. You may have to treat heavily infested areas again in a few months.

Additional information- Kent Marine Kalkwasser mix is sold in 3.5 oz containers for around $13.99.
-Ingredients: Calcium Hydroxide

I believe the zoas just came in contact with alot of kalkwasser. The target aptasia retract and then melt away, leaving the excess product behind.

gotta be a little carefull with the excess but with a little practice its not so hard.it is a denser liquid so it sinks.also you can utilize the kalkwaser for more than aptasia i have seen it used for some pesky spreading corals such as blue cloves.

Beats the price of commercial brands and is way more effective than the old lemon juice trick. As long as you get it in the mouth it should die back its the little ones that are tricky.
