| Anyone know a good fish to get to clean up this hair algae? I have a rainford goby, but he can't seem to keep up with it lol | |

| There are some tangs than love hair algae and a few that stay smaller than the big boys like the yellow eye bristle tooth or a regular old yellow tang. There are algae\lawnmower blennies. You dont like sally lite foots? They do a pretty good job but have a bad wrap,I have one in several of my tanks and have had no ill effects over then years, once in a while though you can get a rougue crab after the algae is all gone that may try and snip a piece of fin if the food is scarce.Once again this is not so likely. | |

| Maybe I should get a lawnmower Blenny.....I've had poor luck with emerald crabs, usually they just don't do enough damage on the algae. Paul at aqua serene suggested a virgate rabbitfish, you have any experience with those? | |

| Hmmm well I do like rabbit fish but if its the one I am thinking of its not one that I personaly would recommend unless you plan on upgrading...you do plan on upgrading dont you?actualy I forget your tank size if its a 75 then you could get away with it for some time. They get over 9 inches long if I recall, you could get a small one and let it grow out in your tank. Also they have a slight chance of nipping corals or clams wich is what beasilybub was mentioning at the meet.I actually adopted\traded for hers and he is now mine,so on that note as I said I do like them and I would own one I just thought I would mention that.they do love there algae too.As far as the crab a sally light foot loves hair algae and an emerald crab is a fix for bubble algae control, they will both consume other foods its just these are what they have reputations of keeping in check.I feel you on the emeralds.I could lone you out my sally lightfoot crab so you can see the guy in action. | |

| Roberts right, many tangs and rabbitfish are great at eating hair algae. You had mentioned a rainfords goby not keeping up. There is a larger goby in the same genus called a dragon goby that does a really good job cleaning up hair algae. They are more robust than rainfords and maybe a better option. another option if you can get a local store to ship it in is scatophagus argus (green scat) these fish are actually quite common just not very popular so stores don't stock them all that often. It may just be a matter of asking one of the stores to ship one in for you. PS the pipe organ coral is doing awesome! | |

| Seahares will work wonders on a big patch of algae. Just pass him along when its all gone or it will starve since they only eat algae. | |
