| This weekend I was able to atend a salt water hobbyist anual christmas meeting and i must say it was pretty good.I got to do some coral exchanges wich is nice as well as a raffle. There was also food and drink available not to mention alot of fellow hobbyists wanting to talk salt I was hoping that at some point we could do something similar once there is enough interest.Obviously the amount of attendance and a venue would be a first hurdle but i think that this could easily be something worth while.I am thinking in a couple of months I will put out a feeler and see if there would be a good attendance.I know alot of peoples, so if i got the word out and had a place that would be suitablle then all i need would be some planning and a little asistance and it would be very plausable.some food for thought i suppose.I know there are alot of people in corvallis, eugene, albany, salem, ect that are yet to be organized or even social about the hobby.they need a little push..I mean sometimes there are meetings at my house but that doesnt count, as it is not oganized and not as social as i would like. | |

| I can't really think of a place that you could setup multiple aquariums as well as have people with food.Maybe if it is during the warmer seasons it could be a BBQ of sorts. One of the meetings I attended was held at a pizza parlor wich, although isn't ideal for setting up tanks ,was an ideal meeting place. Could also look into a banquet room at a local restaraunt although that would take some funds and planning. Upon thinking about it this is more comlicated than I thought it would be. | |

| All those places would be great for meetings maybe if there was a explanation of what was going on ahead of time there could be a small tank to hold corals in.people could simply bring there coolers and tuperwares and we could hold them in the tank until the meeting and trade is over. I dont know..just thinking here.I would definatly be down for a frag BBQ. | |

| it would be awesome to have a get together at your pad.when its dry and warm we could even setup a 10/20 for the frags.this is down the road obviously but something to think about. | |

| I honestly have not put the gears moving on this one as I am just recovering from a knee surgery, but seeing as I am mostly recovered I suppose its time to put some more thought into it.I will see if shutterfish has any more ideas\suggestions on a location.I suppose I can cook and if the weathers good there is a small park adjacent to my house that could facilitate a small gathering.I could house the frag tank, but my biggest hurdle is my children...I need a babysitter. Hmmmmmm... | |

| Awesome! I think this is such a great idea. I am in and am willing to help. its slightly possible that my place would work as well, I would have to check with the roommates though... | |

| Looks like we can get something going as I know a few people who want to attend. So lets say we get the word out and see what we can do about it I am thinking the begining of may...maybe?I think maybe downtown at my house may work best as I can have a frag tank ready for a coral trade and I dont mind getting food stuffs. | |

| Alright the word is out,at least to the few I have spoken to, that may 5th sunday 1:00 my house the meeting will take place. There will be a tank to put corals in for a frag swap, foods made by yours truly, dont worry I know how to cook before fragging ,and if there are any ideas to make things more enjoyable I would love to hear them. But basicaly just bring yourself a fellow hobbyist if you like and some frags to trade in a cooler.its gonna be fun. | |
