| That is one Drooopy calaustrea. I have seen similar things happen to pavona and bubble coral.I have also seen several LPS corals have what is called polyp bail out when the coral polyp itself ejects. Have you tried moving it to a slightly higher flo area? What happens when you irritate the polyp, does it try and retract? | |

| I don't think lack of flow is the problem. The polyps are not retracting.Inside you can see and feel fragments of skeleton. | |

| Crazy! They're not in the same tank are they? At firts I was wondering what would cause that but then I looked at my large sarco doing the exact same thing and i thought Maybe it is just reproducing in a different way. | |

| Not Again! I think that it does indeed look like it is a stressed form of reproduction,I hope you are documenting the polyp bail out or fall out if you will. I am wondering if they will be able to form smaller clones of themselves that way? | |

This frag is located in a different tank. The water conditions are good and it resides next to the skimmer pump.In addition no crowding was observed. As for the caulastrea, that's another story.I had it on a frag rack with several other caulastrea.

Unfortunately, I lost track of the smaller piece.Next time I will glue it down sooner.
