wanted: sand and live rock

For what its worth I have been doing this for well over a decade and I wouldn't recommend base rock with your first tank. its gonna take a lot longer to get things stable while you are still learning the ropes. Good quality cured live rock will give you a much better jump start on a successful system.

Yeah,I forget about the wiggle room that live rock provides as well as the increased speed of the cycle.
