| I have been feeding comet goldfish and guppies about 2 times a week and then cichlid pellets every day. I have never tried putting plants in there I like just the rock by its self. I really want some peacock bass but I can't seem to find any. And I will be posting some pictures in the next few days. | |

| So me an my dad have decided we really enjoy our small reef and we want to go big so were tearing this tank down and building a reef out of it our plans are to add a 55 gallon sump/refugium its already drilled it just need the acrylic box and to build a Canapoy for our lights. I'm buying my fist skimmer Thursday it's a corallife super skimmer it's the biggest model they have it does up to 220 gallons. So does anyone know we're I can get about 150 pounds of rock. So all of the fish in here are for sale if any ones interested. Also what are going to be my best choice on lights. | |

| 150 lbs of rock will be spendy in one chunck, maybe start with 50 lbs of base rock and go from there.I know the animal house has that much rock live or can order some base.and to cover such a large tank and do corals you are looking at say 3 250 watt metal halides or 3-4 LED modules, you could do T5s but you would want at least a 6 bulb fixture.Filling big tanks emptys pockets.
I have alot of base rock and live rock so feel free to drop me a line if you need a hand.Have you checked you messages? | |

| Any macro will work for nutrient export. Did you already register some nitrates as a sign of having a cycle? Did you end up snaggin some nice live rock and sand? Looks pretty bright, what are you running up top for lighting? | |

| Nothing quite like a large marine tank. Is this tank going to be a FOWLR tank or a full blown reef? Either way it's going to be awesome. | |

| I am sure that in a few years it will. Read alot of books if you can, the public library has a number of good books last I checked.Make sure to study each fish before putting it in your tank as many fishes are not invert safe and with such a large tank you will be tempted to get more fishes that most, so compatibility is important. Also I would look into a quarantine to avoid the heart break of adding a diseased fish to a large system,as getting them out can be a pain in addition to infecting more fish than you have a capacity to house and treat separately. Just a few heads up on the new tank as usual feel free to drop me a line if you need a hand with something. | |

| A quarantine tank does sound like a good idea I will talk to my dad about that. What is a good number of fish to have. And can you have more than one tang in a tank. | |

| A 110 gallon?!? NICE! Hope you get that thing up and running soon. When you start putting coral in it I can help ya out with some basic hard corals and softies. When you first start up tanks it usually better to start with more resilient coral like my personal favorite mushrooms. Once your tank cycles and you get your parameters just right im sure I can dig up one of my old fuzzy mushrooms to help you out. | |

| So my dad wants to make this like a predator tank with lion fish eels and puffers. And none of those can live with coral right? How many predators could I keep in here. | |

| Yeah those fish are not safe with most corals and other inverts. You have a pretty good sized tank so it depends on the size of the fish you want. You could easily have quite a nice little mix of fish. Maybe a tang, rabbit fish, puffer, small eel, or a small trigger. | |
