Thanks to Badx for telling me about the forum so that I can get answers to my generally silly and most likely obvious questions. I have two tanks. One old 6 gallon. One new 10 gallon. I've cycled the 10 gallon and finished moving the fish over yesterday. Planning to close down 6 gal. Will likely start a 20 gallon at some point in the future. German rams need more room, which I didn't realize when I picked up a pair. Novel concept... read up on fish before buying. Smile Cheers!

dont worry . i am the one who usualy asks the silly questions.whats the meaning of life ,why am i here.you know the unimportant stuff.sweet you are getting to make the upgrade to a ten.i have a couple of friends who breed rams so your in good company.they can be a little aggresive and territorial when they are paired off but at least they dont usualy cause any harm to the other fishes.are you taking the 6 gallon down or are you just setting it up for smaller things.and remeber plants will help you out with your new cycle.if you need somne let us know.

bad had a thread on that i think, its very hard to get tank pics, best thing you can do is learn the settings of your camera and take several pics (pick the best one)...

I hope she's hiding behind the driftwood. Haven't seen her this evening.

He's pretty brilliant when the light hits him just right. I'd love to add another female. Could I do that in a 10gal? Maybe you could connect me with your breeder buddy at some point.

My kids picked out the pagoda for me at Petco. Very thoughtful of them. Apparently they were concerned that the fish had nowhere to live. It's not a true aquarium without an underwater building or two. Smile

im a fan of the natural look, but it does work in there, it actually looks like it should be there, i have seen many tanks ruined by the goddy decoration being in the tank...

I agree that natural is usually the way to go. The fish are the decoration. It makes the kids happy so I'm OK with it. Anything to get them interested is good with me.

Welsome to the forum eyeballer!
And I agree...no silly/dumb questions. That is how we all learn!
Love your rams. I am a huge fan of rams. One of the coolest fish I have ever kept! A little off thread topic but WELL worth mentioning...NEVER keep baby (freshly hatched/swimming) rams in a net pen with the parents in the main tank. The parents will attempt to collect them via their mouth and will kill them all as they get ripped through the netting! Live and learn! Super sad Sad seeing that as I was the dumba$$ that made that mistake! It seems SO obvious...in hindsight. LOL Wink
Anyway, great to meet you.
