So my rams keep spawning, but they are laying their eggs in the gravel! This wouldn't bother me, but the my Cory pick off all of the eggs when they aren't looking. I would like to remove the eggs, but since they aren't on a surface I dont know how to remove them. Any ideas?

Siphon hose to get the eggs out and/or a mesh to keep the other fishes out. That is odd to have a ram scatter its eggs.Oh yeah...I can take your corys Razz

It's really weird. They arent "scattered" though. They laid them underneath a couple plants. Will a gravel siphon damage the eggs?

ALSO. I was looking in my kribensis tank and literally the coolest thing is happening. I knew it was about time for them to spawn again, and I have been watching closely... I just noticed that the female Krib was missing. It turns out they dug a giant cave underneath one of my giant rocks. It is extremely hidden, and proves they are absolutely the smartest parents I have ever had.\

I'm slightly debating the Cory. I dont have the spotted one anymore. Despite the annoyingness of the two green eating my rams eggs, they keep the bottom of my tank clean. I'm afraid if I remove them it will get too dirty. I doubt it though, I have two bristlenose in there as well. What do you think?

Maybe you can throw the corys another tank until the eggs hatch? If the eggs are attached to the gravel then the siphon may damage them during the tumble with other gravel rocks.I would even bet that the bristle noses would make a go at the eggs too.I know when I have eggs that I dont want eaten I also leave the light on over night as this increases the chance of the parents defending against a night attack to the eggs, most eggs hatch within 48 hours if the temps are at 78+.Nice to hear about your kribs, sounds like they have a nice foxhole dug out...or a small fortress Smile

So I woke up this morning and all of the eggs are gone! Not surprised. I am going to break a terracotta pot up and put a bunch of small pieces. Hopefully next time they will spawn on something I can remove. I really want to get these eggs. I mean how often do you get electric blue/GB pairs... Oh well I will still have a batch of Kribs.

I think I will still trade you the cory. I think I may have a few ESPE Rasporas as well, if you are interested. I bought 15 but I got shipped 20.

I do like the espes, where did you snag em from? Yeah you should try to get some fry from those two as they look like they have good genetics.Another challenge to overcome.

I got them off of aquabid.com about a week ago. They all seem pretty healthy thus far.

Nice man,I have been wondering about some of those distributors.I presume the price was right as well, sometimes Dale at the animla house will cut a nice deal if you pre order the fishes and pick em up on arrival. At least he used to.

Ya the prices are great. I would definitely recommend checking it out. As long as look for auctions on the West Coast the shipping isn't terrible and you can save money. Usually the fish are a lot healthier too.

So do you want to meet up sometime this week and see if we can work something out? I can take some pics of the fish if you want

Maybe we could do a little bit of that and a few shrimp? I can find some more to trade if necessary! I'm frantically looking for a tiny tank to set up as we speak
